Not so Wordless Wednesdays – Belly Monsters invade Hamilton

I’ve been hearing a lot about the burgeoning food scene in Hamilton and I’ve just been looking for an excuse to jump on the QEW and head over to check it out myself.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, my contract at work ended, and I found myself with some free time.  This was the opportunity I’ve been waiting for, so I reached out to some food loving friends who live in Hamilton and we came up with the first ever Belly Monsters Crawl (Thanks to Judy Nguyen for coming up with the perfect group name).  The Belly Monsters consists of Chanry Thach, Justin Baisden, Judy Nguyen, Sid Friedman and myself.  I can’t thank these guys enough for taking the time to show me just some of the amazing restaurants that Hamilton has to offer.

Since I wasn’t familiar with the restaurants in Hamilton, I left my belly in the capable hands of the other Belly Monsters and they didn’t disappoint.  The crawl lasted 9 hours and we visited the following 6 restaurants:

  1. Culantro Peruvian Cookery
  2. Charred Rotisserie House
  3. Chuck’s Burger Bar
  4. Two Black Sheep
  5. Staxx Burger Chicken & Waffle House
  6. Brown Dog Coffee Shoppe

I’m not going to bore you with descriptions of what we ate, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.  And, if you’re not satisfied with just the pictures, then I also shared a video created by Judy on our epic food filled day.

By the way, we’re currently looking for next set of restaurants to invade, so if you know about somewhere serving up some great food or somewhere with great restaurants, leave us a comment below.

  1. Thanks so much for visiting us at Culantro Peruvian Cookery, and for the lovely photos. We so appreciate folks that take the time to share their experiences with us.

    1. We had a lot of fun. It’s obvious from the taste of your food that Juan puts a lot of work into preparing the perfect dishes for his guests. Keep up the great work!!
