Behind the Chronicles: About Davindra

Hello and welcome to Goat Roti Chronicles. My name is Davindra, and I am a Mississauga-based travel media creator, writer, and culinary tourism specialist.

I don’t do generic tourist brochures, and I don’t deal in over-polished marketing fluff. Instead, I focus on boots-on-the-ground, fact-heavy travel guides and deep culinary dives – whether that means tracking down authentic local food scenes, highlighting slow travel experiences, or mapping out weekend road trips.

My journey into the travel world started organically. I’m originally from Trinidad, but many years ago, I packed up my life and followed my wife to Canada. We settled in Mississauga, raised two kids, and I spent years navigating the corporate I.T. landscape while feeding a deep fascination for culture, food, and media.

A question I often get is where the name “Goat Roti Chronicles” came from. When I originally launched this site, my sole focus was tracking down the best independent kitchens and interviewing the chefs behind them. I figured I would name the platform after my favourite Trinidadian comfort food, a goat roti, and tack on “Chronicles” because I wanted to document real, unvarnished human stories.

The Official Credentials (The Professional Stuff)

While I love a casual food crawl and a dry joke, I also take the travel industry seriously. When I’m not testing out new gear on a BC road trip or exploring the menu at a local restaurant, you can find me working alongside major tourism boards and professional media networks:

Why You Can Trust These Guides

Every review, itinerary, and road trip breakdown on this site is backed by actual firsthand experience. If a restaurant is an overpriced tourist trap, I’ll tell you. If a hidden gem is worth a two-hour detour, I’ll map it out for you.

Whether you are looking for an uncompromised taco crawl in Toronto’s Kensington Market or a complete weekend itinerary through the Maritimes, you can count on getting the raw facts, a little bit of humour, and zero filler.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you find exactly what you need to plan your next escape.

Cheers,
